After some user interviews I constructed empathy maps to extract insights.
A tool for writing microservices
When I was assigned to this project an mvp had already been developed by the engineers on the project. I was responsible for fixing the navigation structure for the application. I was also tasked with creating the flow to add a new language to the application.
Though IBM was all about Design Thinking at the time, I worked in a hybrid Design thinking/lean manner on this project. All design work was executed in Sketch. Prototypes were created in Invision. My team was distributed -- me in Austin, TX and my engineers were located in London.
This was released as a free offering from IBM. We successfully released two updated version of the application.
After some user interviews I constructed empathy maps to extract insights.
Once I had clear insights into user needs I was able to create a simple proto-persona.
As-is and To-be user flow helps to see where we've got gaps in understanding.
This is a user task flow for adding a new language to the application.
